My gender doula practice is currently closed. I am not taking on new clients.
What to Expect
The format of my sessions is intentionally flexible so that together we can decide what arrangement and modalities best address your needs. During our initial session we will address the broad picture of your reason(s) for seeking support. Following sessions may include conversation, meditation, ritual creation, breathing exercises, movement, writing prompts, and other relevant modalities.
Together we peel back the layers of what’s happening for you, and devise resilient and life-affirming methods for you to move through. In sessions I draw from my diverse experiences as a gender doula, hospital chaplain, facilitator and organizer, and artist. While my practice is trauma-informed, I am not trained as a trauma worker or as a therapist.
Like most healing modalities, my gender doula and spiritual care services are most impactful when we are able to work together over the course of multiple sessions. We build trust and mutual understanding over time, which in turn allows for deeper spiritual reflection and attunement.
For some people looking for support through a concrete situation, our work together may last for three sessions. For others going through major changes, it may be most helpful to meet regularly over the span of a year or more.
Due to COVID-19, all sessions are held either on the telephone or on video call. The typical session lasts between 75-90 minutes. There are not pre-determined time limits to sessions, which enables us to arrive at an organic end without feeling rushed or left hanging.
All sessions are confidential.
